Wild bird photographed from a hide rented from Mark Hancox / Nature Photography Hides. Kingfishers are attracted to a suspended tank containing fish bait. A variety of interchangeable perches could be placed at different angles around the tank. Here, a bulrush was chosen from among the available perches. The bird has returned from an unsuccessful dive into the tank.
