Opaekaa Falls, Wailua River State Park, Kauai, Hawaiian Islands, USA (August 2015)
Status is Least concern. Native to SE Asia. The domesticated bird was introduced to the Hawaiian Islands and across the Pacific by ancient Micronesians and Polynesians. Normally the wild bird is shy but, on Kauai, it has become habituated to people by feeding. Apparently no domesticated birds are kept on Kauai.
