This bird was spotted at a stop during the drive by Hans of Coffee Adventures Tours from Boquete to Almirante.

Status is classified as Least Concern. There has been a recent split of Blue-crowned Motmot into six species including Lesson's Motmot (Momotus lessonii) which ranges from southern Mexico to western Panama.
