This image was taken during the Great White Shark trip organised by Natures Images and led by Mark Sisson. The shark was tempted to attack a decoy seal towed from behind a boat during an early morning trip run by Apex Shark Expeditions of False Bay and led by Chris Fallows. Breaching is a comparatively rare occurrence; only two full breaches were seen during three boat trips though several surface lunges on the decoy were observed. A typical full breach lasts just over one second and often occurs without warning.
